Parish and school personnel, including clergy, are “Mandated Reporters” who are required by state law to report abuse, even a reasonable suspicion of abuse, to civil authorities – Law Enforcement or Child Protective Services. Our Diocese reports all allegations to the civil authorities, in accordance with mandated reporter laws.
If an adult victim/survivor is looking to report a case of Clergy Abuse, we encourage them to first contact their local civil authorities. Once a report is filed with the local civil authorities, individuals are encouraged to contact the diocese of San Jose’s Victim Assistance Coordinator Griselda Cervantez at 408-983-0225 or [email protected]. Reports to the diocese are accepted by either online submission or by phone. All reports are confidential to protect the rights of the victim.
We want to hear from you about any concerns that you have regarding the mis-management of parish and school property, including cash and all other assets and any apparent disregard of policies pertaining to the property management of these assets.
The information you provide will be sent to us by EthicsPoint on a totally confidential and anonymous basis.
EthicsPoint will accept reports of misconduct through its website at the links on this page, dsj.ethicspoint.com, or the hotline telephone number 888-325-7863. They will provide a complete report to the Diocese of San Jose. We will then continue the investigation and determine how best to resolve the issues. You will receive feedback on the progress of the investigation.
