The offering of a Mass and the tremendous grace associated with it makes it the most powerful prayer. The Church considers the Mass the greatest possible prayer of intercession because it is the perfect offering of Christ to the Father by making present the Paschal Mystery of His death and resurrection.

It is a longstanding tradition in the Church that one may request the Presider to offer a Mass for a specific intention. The intention may be offered as prayers of intercession and/or thanksgiving, and to help the souls in purgatory.

In and through the celebration of the Eucharist, we pray for the deceased, for those who are ill, or in celebration of a milestone (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries, graduations).

The Diocese allows up to two Mass intentions per Mass. On some Holy Days and special occasions (like Memorial Day, Mothers Day, and Independence Day) all Masses are reserved by the parish for intentions related to the celebration.

Every 11:00am Sunday Mass is offered for the People of the Parish and shown on livestream. The intentions for ALL weekend Masses are read aloud during the Livestream Mass.

To request an Intention for a Mass at either Church, please call the parish office at 650-948-2158. We can help you with available dates and times and also send a card to the intended, or their family to notify them of the intention.

Mass Intention donations are processed by the parish and then paid to the presider. If one wishes to make a donation, the customary amount is $10.00 per Mass.
