Our August 4 meeting will be focused on Lectio: Eucharist: Episode 4: Miracles of the Exodus.
We will watch it together to hear from Dr. Brant Pitre as he continues his amazing series on Discovering the Mass in the pages of the Old and New Testament. He will focus this presentation on Jesus speaking of Himself as "the bread which comes down from heaven." What did that mean to the Jews who first heard Him? What meaning do these words have for us today in our understanding of the Eucharist?
It is another episode not to be missed--especially the discussion at the end of the presentation where we share what it means personally to us in our daily lives.
As Benedict XVI said: "Books alone are not enough! Form communities based on faith! In recent decades, movements and communities have come to birth in which the power of the Gospel is keenly felt. Seek communion in faith, like fellow travelers who continue together to follow the path of the great pilgrimage that the Magi from the East first pointed out to us."
This is what we want to be; a community where the Holy Spirit works and moves us to grow in faith and spread the Gospel more effectively among the people that God puts in our daily lives.
